Description

The Cairn Terrier is a small terrier breed that originated in the Scottish Highlands. They were originally bred for hunting small game, such as rodents and foxes, and were used to control vermin on farms and in households. The breed gets its name from the piles of stones or cairns that were used as landmarks or memorials in the Scottish countryside.

Cairn Terriers are known for their shaggy, weather-resistant coats that come in a variety of colors, including cream, wheaten, red, grey, and brindle. They have a broad head with a strong jaw, and their ears are small and erect. Cairn Terriers are a sturdy and active breed, and they require regular exercise and mental stimulation.

Despite their small size, Cairn Terriers are known for their bold and fearless personalities.
